VERY strange problem!!(Delta HPE HF)

Hi everybody,

I've got the following problem:

I drive my car(HPE HF) for only 2 days (weekend) a week. Everytime I start the car
it has problems with runnig steadily and or while driving it acts like it
has too much fuel(when i press the gas pedal the car slows down instead off
quikkening its pase).
Also when slowing down to turn or in front of trafic lights the engine just
stops!
When I park the car for about 15 minutes after driving for about 15 min,
whith the problems,and I then restart all the problems are gone!
The VAE valve has already been replaced and for a couple of weeks(4) it ran
without trouble.
So it was with the old VAE when it was cleaned it went good for about two
weeks.

Does anybody has any idea?!

It has been already 4 times in the garage for this problem!They can't seem
to solve it.

I think you're mentioning an erattic idle and cut out when slowing from cold. I had similar problems in my HF Turbo, and it was mentioned by Leo, that the problems were with the potentiometer (a small red box to the right ot the rear cam cover).
I am not familiar with the HPE engine set up, and never got around to replacing the potentiometer as the car was scrapped before I could do this. The turbo never experienced slowing on acceleration though.

Hi i had the same problems . One day at the barbershop the car wouldn´t start and i had to call a thow truck. The car was not starting ignition worked but did not start ,they had to check the electrical system and found that the ground cable was connected to the car.problem fixed the car runs very good now and i even bought a chip so i now got 260 hp in the car

what did you change when you've got 260hp ?

Who's chip have you used, and what other modificvations have you had. Being in England it is hard to find performance parts.

check a "potencjometr przepustnicy(pl)" this is a mechanical/electric part (box with cables) whith control how much air can get to the engine. and this is conected with acceleration pedal too.
or. chech the lambda sond.
