Hi all,

just run 40 000km with a timing belt fitted one year ago in a prisma 1.6ie

The owners manual says it can run 100 000 km on it ... but ... i honestly ... don't believe it ... how many km would you believe to be a right amount of km ???

Thanks,
Marcos

Hi
100,000Km or 60,000miles sounds about right to me, according to the manual that is. I got my car with a little over 60,000miles on it from new and did the belt then, it was the origonal, so it had been on there for 12 years and was fine, remember to do the tensioner bearing at the same time though, as this is usually the part that fails first. I, on the other hand only found out this recently, so I'm hoping mine are OK as I didn't get this done with the belt, oops
