Lancia Delta hf hpe

Unread post by Christer Strömgren »

Hello all! I have bought a Lancia Delta hpe hf, And i have a big problem...
It starts to be time to change the belt for the camshaft i have been told.
And i just asked my local lancia workshop and they wanted to have 8000SEK for the job about 800€ that is 4 times more expensive then on other cars!
Anyone know why? is there any special tools that will be needed or are the workshop just planning to get much money from me? I would be grateful for an answer! This is a great page! Take care out there bye bye from Christer

if its your timing belt, and looks pretty wore or the car is around 75000 km. get it changed. mine broke a few months ago and the top half of the engine had to be rebuilt. valves heads, camshaft. this cost me about 1300 euro and i'm in italy where these cars came from. 800 euro sounds like alot but its cheap compared to what you'll pay if the belt breaks. hope i've been of some help

Hej Christer!

I am also a Lancia owner from Sweden.
I think there are workshops in Sweden that change the belt for a cheaper price than 8000SEK.

Send me an email

Hello there Delta drivers in Sweden.

I live in Gothenburg and had just changed the "kamrem+spännare" :) at Rosso and they charged me sek 3700:-. I have also checked with other FIAT/Alfa mechanics in Gothenburg and they all charge about sek 4000:-. 8000 is way to much!! It seems they are just overcharging you.
On to another topic - I have seen a Lancia forum on this address http://www.starta.nu/forum/viewforum.php?forum=189&1
and I think it would be useful if we Swedish Delta owners could use it to share knowledge and experience?! Hope to see u there! mvh Carl
