integrale goblins

Unread post by Ryan »

hey everyone
something about my integrale has me puzzled. some times and only sometimes when i start the engine it will immediately rev up to about 3000rpm then stay there. i shut it off and start again and its usually fine. I don't know???
also if any one knows... what does the IE light mean, cause mine stays on. i was told it has something to do with fuel.
thanks.

Sounds like the stop throttle switch, I have had the same problem with my 8V Integrale. You can try cleaning the contacts which sometimes gets a bit sludged up. Or you can get it replaced for around £100.

Could be a misaligned TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) or again a misaligned Throttle body. Also the Idle Control Valve could be as this man says, sludged up. The other two options are Air Temperature Sensor and Water Temperature Sensor. If either of these two go open loop (knackered) the ECU thinks the car is cold and revs itself to get heat into it hence your problem.

If you were to replace everything I\'ve just mentioned it\'ll set you back about £300. Best option is to take it to a specialist and get it looked at, they\'ll diagnose it and save you money at the same time.
