I need some hints on how to dismount the gearbox of an 'grale 16v of 1990.
- is it possible to do this without taking the whole engine out?
- is it possible to only remove the side plate (under the left wheel arche) for overhaul purposes?
Any other advise, tips or mental support is welcome!

Hoi Albert,
Yes you can replace the gearbox without take out the engine
The next stap will be take out the complete left sospension include with the drive shaft Out of the gear box beacause the lengt of it inside the gearbox is nearly 1 meter because it makes the connection between the gearbox and also the front diff.
Afterwards take out the complete airfilter and intercooler.
Now the hard job is starting and that is disconnect the starter of the engine.
Now take out the oil of the gearbox
Disconnected the oil-pipe between gearbox and front diff
support the engine on the undersite because you must take out the support between the gearbox and the carroserie.
Now yoy erach the point that you can take out the gearbox when you unscrew the bold lof the gearbox (4x-bold) and the front diff (+/- 3 bold).
I think this Job will be verry hard for you when you din.t do it once!!!!!!
I did this Job (replacement of the gearbox) several times
