Hi
I have a 1990 Delta HF Integrale 16V.
I bought this car 3 weeks ago, and till now I hadn´t any problem with it.
I think I have a small "gremlin" on my IE light.
Sometimes I go out with the car and everything is OK - no IE light, sometimes I´m driving the car, and suddenly on my dashboard the IE light appears.
I went to my mechanic and he linked the car to his computer, and he told me that the "malfuncion" he not registered on the "electronic central", and so it is not "terminal".
I can tell you that the car accelerate superb, the turbo pressure goes up to 1.2 bar.
In your opinion what is happenig with this "bug"?
Is it a bug, or something more serious?
Thank you

Re: IE Light
Hello Carlos,
I had an identical scenario, I have a '91 16v and the same thing happened - the IE light came on now and then. My mechanic hooked the ECU up to his tester and no problem was registered. After the service and as if by magic, no more IE light (I wonder if he just disconnected it for my peace of mind!!
Keep an eye on it, but if nothing is registering on the diagnostics - I wouldn't worry too much. Happy driving,
Themi.

Re: IE Light
I would say that it is a typical "Italian car problem"
This is not something thats not so unfamiliar to the Alfaromeo owner, aspecialy not to the ones that own an older model.
My brothers Alfa has a mind of its own, some times the lights just turns on, and a minute later it turns off!!
But don`t take my word for it, if you still are angious talk to your nearest mecanic.

Re: IE Light
hi i have a 91 evo in yellow and i also have the pain in the rear ie light problem, myself and a friend of mine pinned it down to the fact that some kind italian in verona who wanted to go a bit quicker snipped off the sensor that plugs into the cat,the car runs about 260hp and my light comes on at exactly 5500rpm in 4th or 5th every time but with no ill affects.
