Choke cables for DCNFs

Hi everyone.
I have installed dual DCNFs on my Scorpion. The engine has a slightly higher than stock compression,
long duration 40/80 cams and free flow Ansa. In order to get it started I have to use the 'starting devices' mounted on the carbs side. Once the choke is on it warms up nicely. When these carbs were mounted on a stock Beta coupe I never needed to use the choke. Just a couple of steps on the pedal would be enough to start it.
If I have to put choke cables through to the dash board.....has anyone done this? The cable would have a long way to go and would have to make quite a few turns to get it near the dash. I'm thinking of running it through the central tunnel or having the choke cable come out of the fire wall somewhere.
Any thoughts?
Todd
