I will presume that you will not "take the long way home" (Supertramp 1979) "behind the wheel" (Depeche Mode 1987) ; contracting instead a transport-company to "ro-ro" load/unload - deliver to your door ??

now that we live in a Europe United - import/export of non-controlled goods is supposed to be easier than it once was.

Will exporting from IT / importing to UK pose a expensive Document Issuance Procedure in IT including approval by an Italian "Notary-Public Official & Border Clearance Nightmares (as in the -not so distant past-) or registration / MOT hastles once the vehicle arrives??

Will IT or UK VAT to be levied on the purchase price ?

I've been told that the troublesome days are over concerning all of the above / that the required documents arcost in the € 100 neighborhood
I've also been warned that carrying an envelope full of cashabove amount X is not authorized; that bank to bank transfers are preferred; which could be scary?; paying for an(y) item (anywhere) when you (or a trusted Agent) are not able to inspect the "whatever" the item is prior to laying your Euro-Scheckels on the barrel-head.

Agree with you 100%: I have owned 10 S2 1600s over the years. They ALL had the greased upper A-arms. Although the numbers on the A-arms do differ between S1 and S2 1600, I have never found a mechanical difference.

Edit: although the 1600 upper A-arms look like regular S1 A-arms, they are a couple of mm shorter.
