Well I did have a problem caused by connectors on the heater fan switch, it's a layout design fault really.

As for the heater itself, this is really another topic. You should feel the hoses when the engine is hot. The heater will work only if there is flow, so the inlet and outlet hoses should both be hot. There is a bleed screw on the output side; use carefully otherwise you might get scalded.

If trapped air is not the problem, then you may have to flush the heater matrix. This I have written about before. Finally the S2 heater cocks do play up.
