LED lamps consumes less. Error reporting is tested by the resistance (ohm) and the consumption is measured in amper. But it was my purpose. As the other bulps last longer I dont need now to change them, maybe when they will be gone except the number plate light. I dont need to help police see my plate. And the main reason of the topic is that its possible to suppress error without any extra resistance adding.

Where do you discard old mercury LED bulbs?
theyre poisonous arent they? where do you throw them? who do you give them to?
sorry, theyre CFLs not LED .. my mistake.
i read somewhere that they contain mercury
im in the UK by the way... any tips on what i should do with them?

I still have them as they are working. But here in Slovakia everyone throws them normaly to the bin.

I would think that every country has it's own infrastructure for disposal of hazardous goods. In the area of Germany I live we have 4 (!) different waste bins in front of each house (plastic, paper, garden stuff and any other waste) for non-hazardous waste. Hazardous waste like batteries, CFLs, paint, oil, etc. can be disposed at public recycling centres, but not in the bin..... Check you local council's website.....
