Although the carbureted US-spec cars had their distributors on top (driven off the exhaust cam), the fuel injected ones (like what I've got) are driven off the end of the exhaust cam. If the Euro electronic distributors are driven the same way, I'd avoid the Marelli unit for the reason I described. I notice somebody else reports a similar experience.
