Should not be a problem. I have built in quite a few of the intermittent switches in customers cars.

The permanent live wire is for the automatic return.

Go to your local car parts supplier and ask for the Bosch Intermittent Wiper Switch, part no. 0 336 920 004. It comes with a wiring diagram for different car makes (including Lancia 2000) and It gives you about 6 different intervals and has a decent black knob which doesn't look too bad on a Fulvia dashboard.
