It took me several attempts to find these photos again & 2 years; but I definately remembered having seen these photos before...it was the funny paint scheme I remembered; however...in my mind...the white paint was on the back of the car. Oh well !

looking at the rear of my Z; it seems that there are black rubber 'bumperettes' missing ! Hey, I got:D cheated ::o

I really don't like the heavy bumpers on a S2 Sport.
That & the fact my bumpers where:
a.: missing
b.: mutulated
c.: rusty

I let the holes for the bumpers disappear.

I think it's nicer this way & saves me a hunting trip for some nice bumpers...

btw: the Omicron catalogue 1997-1998 tells me that only 800 "1600 Sports" were made & only 30 of them are RHD.

For the US market they even fitted overidders to S1 coupes and Z's (see Road and Track test pg 60 of gold portfolio).

The s2 Sport has I believe a rubber strip along the stainless bumper which looks a bit down market IMHO and no overridders, and the only Rubber overidders are I think on the 1600 sport to "beast it up"!.

So your sport would not have had front overidders???!!!! Now it has no bumper holes (picture please).

Re 30 RHD 1600's the late Peter Pompeii Z register shows 90 (although some may be the same car...and a few had no details or 818650 chassis numbers so not rhd etc)

from a well-educated-person's old-world pernt a view, from up in an S2 Z Ivory Tower...I think that the rubber-trim faced S2 Z bumper is the epitomy of elegance & lovingly balances-out the racoon-mask front-end optics of the Z...not to forget that matching the chromeless rubber-seals around windshield & rear window.
& furthermore, just maybe, might prevent every bump into a flying bumblebee from denting the unprotected / naked chome-faced-bumber & bruising the bumblebee

As "sharp & spoity" as Barts solution looks (it does!) it seems to me to be a terrible solution...see above comments about high-speed collisions with bumblebees. In a real-crash the bumpers are probably close to worthless...but none at all on a road-car ??

Old VW low-rider Beetles in California I can accept ! They don't even have a crash absorbing engine in the front .... but a Fulvia Z ??

Although I agree in avoiding Xpensiv financial pain when possible &...I am sure---Z style bumpers...with or without rubber trim & over-riders could / would be very Xpensiv; if even 'findable'..

Maybe just taping on narrow, burlap sacks o' sand would do the trick:P !
