A friend put a Dart slant six distributor in his B20 4s some thirty years ago for similar reasons. He lived in Nevada, and there wasn't any internet. I believe the car is in England now.
Geoff, which points conversion did you use, the xr-700 or xr-3000? I thought the "Fireball" was a separate ignition module.

Crane Fireball XR 700 - 0231. It includes the mods that go in the distributor, replacing the rotor and points, and also the ignition module, mounted elsewhere.
