Have you checked the float levels? The float levels are often overlooked when overhauling carburettors and If the floats are not set to the correct specification, a "flat spot" often results. Lancia supplied a tool to dealers to carry out the check. We "cured" quite a few Fulvias with this problem, simply by adjusting the floats.

Pleased to say that making a jig to set the float levels and carefully rebuilding the carbs vis the butterflies and checking accellerator pump operation etc - the car goes much better with only a hint of hestitation (more pronounced until engine gets up to temperature) otherwise I would say the problem is cured for time being.
