Dear Peter
Thanks
The ones from Evocars, witch make is that, Boge, Koni or..? Do you remember how much the original shocks costed? How are the 8.32 rear shocks different ?
Kind regards
Villads Bønding

PS my car is a Thema Turbo LX with black poltrona frau. The LX makes a lot of difference. But the engine is not as nice as in the 8.32!

Hi Villads,

I don't remember it beïng more quiet in sport or auto mode, except for the rattling noises, but I usually drove in auto mode wich made the car more comfortable and less 'bumpy'. The road stability in my opinion was alike in either wich mode it was in (maybe the suspension was worn, but that I'll never know since... etc.etc ).
The road noise, i guess it comes from either the wheel bearings or the tyres, not the suspension.
The '94 isn't any more noisy than the '92. The '92 had few more rattle & cloincks, but it also had done over 280.000 km, so it wouldn't be fair to compare with the 'new one' wich has only 150.000 km and is 2 years younger.
My wife drives a '91 16V wich engine is more noisy , but it's a non-turbo so again : don't compare.
Anyway, I'm glad there are more Thema-crazy's like me who insist on keeping these great cars rolling.

Greetings,

Pol

Hi Villads,
sorry - been away for a few days.
Right - shocks from Evocars came from Germany, and are called Kayala
made by Boge (I think). They cost around each 110 Euros each.
At that price I'm quite happy with their performance. I was quoted 550Euros
EACH for the standard units from Lancia.
The rear shocks for the 832 and 16v are dimensionally different. Fitting the
16v units to the 832 results in the back of the car sitting around 5cms too high.
As I found out!! The problem lies in the distance from the bottom of the shock
to the spring platform, and the overall length. On the 832 they are 43cm and
54cm respectively, and 45.8cm and 55cm on the 16v. The only way a 16v
shock can be used on an 832 is to fit a shorter spring - which is what I ended
up doing. I have heard that shocks from certain Croma and Alfa 164 models
might fit and be cheaper - haven't had that confirmed.
Hope this is of help to you.
Regards
Peter

Dear Markus
when i turn the key to the MAR position without turning on the engine, the automatic suspension warning light will come on for about 3 sekunds, whith all the other warning lamps, during the normal system check. Then the suspension warning light will turn off for 3 sekunds and then turn on again without starting the engine (still in MAR). When i turn on the engine the suspension warning light will stay on. When i drive the car i can not feel anything wrong with the suspension exept that is always in the "sport" mode. Can you from this tell me more about what is wrong ?
I can see in the manual that the system can be cheched with a "FIAT tester". Is that a standard equipment in a FIAT/Lancia repear shop or is it a speciel tool for the atomatic suspension?
Kind regards

dear villads bonding,

check the continuity of the shock´s wire. reconect the shocks (only the conectors)
from the harness.I suppose that one of the shockwires is broken.

let me know what you have found.

bye Andreas

some infos more:

All "electric shocks" and the leveling are produced by boge.

the konventional shock are produced by Boge ( all incl.8.32) too and
shared with APA Kayaba ( but if i remember well without 8.32)
APA Kayaba is Yapanese producer with a factory in Italy
