Huib,

My Sport (818.332-1430) project is still a long way away, but I am interested. Please, how much?

I took my 1.3S Coupe on a 400 mile (240 km) trip on very nice small twisty roads through farm land. The best in driving experience.

Walt, I had to think about it a bit as you are in the States.

I paid 1800 euro for the gearbox about a year ago. I bought it as a spare for Tina, my Rallye 1.3 and daily driver. A lot of money but a total overhaul including new bearings, synchro's, taking the play out of the linkage, new seals etc already costs more and does not include new gearwheels and differential. Since Tina has a million kilometers ahead I considered it a good deal. The other day I noticed it is not a 818.330 gearbox but 818.332 which is for a Zagato. The difference between the coupe and Zagato final reduction is so small that I have no problem with putting the gearbox on the coupe. However, a Zagato owner may be very happy with it and I have plenty of used but good coupe gearboxes in stock. That is why I put it up for sale.

I don't know how good the seals are after 40 or so years and how effective the preservation inside was. My plan was to put it on the coupe. Fill it with oil. Drive around the block and replace the oil with high quality fully synthetic and see how it goes. Considering the quality of parts and workmanship of Lancia at the time, I have sufficient faith that all will be all right. If the thing goes to the States, you may want me to open it first to see if all is well preserved and possibly replace the seals with fresh Viton seals.

I offer it for 2000 euro without VAT. VAT does not apply if exported to the States. What has to be added is the cost of crating and shipping.

Huib,

I would very much like to buy this gearbox. I assume it is P/N 1204687 818.332 with the 11/39 ratio. Is that correct?

Is PayPal an acceptable way to transfer the funds to you? If not, I can wire transfer the amount but I will need your bank routing number or swift code. International wire transfers cost me US$ 50.00, so if you can determine the shipping charges in advance it will save me a little. If you can not, I will just have to spend the extra $50.00.

Please advise me via e-mail - b20swalt@city-net.com

Thanks,

Walt
