just as you think you have seen one therefore the next rare one will probably come along in a couple of months time, have a look at :
http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... egory=9897
and it is a Lancia Aprilia Fuoriserie Francis Lombardi , carrozzata giardinetta legno 1948, do youthink it is strange or ugly, will it would certainly turn some heads at every Lancia event but then again there is a lot of work to be done.
Does anyone know whether there is a good book detailing special bodied Aprilia/ Aurelia/ Appia Models, i have the Aurelia book by Bernabo and the Appia/Ardea unit by GiorgioNada Editore but still see models coming by i have never seen.
cheers,
Jorn
another rare lancia on ebay - Aprilia Giardinetta by Lombardi
Re: another rare lancia on ebay - Aprilia Giardinetta by Lombardi
Well, if you wanted to acquire it, it seems to have sold on june 22, for the sum of 3'000 Euros. As the buyer has no feedback, maybe the sale did not go through, so if you are interested, contact the seller. For that price, and if the car is really complete with all the trim and chrome, which cannot be judged from the photos, the buyer made a good deal. But he will have to invest a huge amount, to get the car on the road again.
Regarding your remark about special bodied Aprilia - Appia models, I cannot suggest other Lancia books, apart from Wim Oude Weerninck's La Lancia, which you certainly have. But try the coachbuilder books, Zagato, Touring, Ghia, Bertone, where the nicest ones are shown. Maybe there are also some italian books on the more obscure: Monterosa, Viotti, Boneschi, Balbo, Lombardi, etc. But some of those fuoriserie Lancias should remain advantageously in obscurity, as they neither compliment Lancia nor the carrozzeria that built them.
