Front brakes

Doing a brake overhaul on my Appia series 2 and am a bit confused. The repair manual and all the parts suppliers show the series 2 having single brake cylinders at the front and only the series 3 having two. Mine definitely has 2. Maybe late series 2 were built with 2 or maybe mine has been modified. Anybody have the answer?
