Replacement Engine

Hi there,

Does anyone where the GTIe engine comes from?

Did it originate in a FIAT? I don't think it is Lancia specific but I am not sure.

Anyone?

Hello again,
A sensible question - I believe that the 1300 GTie had an engine that was used in the FIAT "World Car" the Palio. That was available with a 1300 cc 8Valve multipoint injection that pushed out 72hp. So the GTie engine was probably that with a mildly hotter camshaft.
Not many Palios in the UK though.

OK - The 127 1300 Sport block has the same bore and stroke so that must be the same block. The Fiat 147 was the Brazilian 127 and it used the 1301 cc block but I have not yet found a definite confirmation on that nor the new head assembly that was in the Y10.
