I have a couple of questions regarding my recently acquired 1959 Flaminia.
1. Colour. It's difficult to get the white balance correct when photographing the car, but
the image below is as close as I can get it.
I have been advised that it's either
1. Antique Ivory
2. White Saratoga
Contemporary UK period adverts for the Flaminia call the options either
1. White
2. Cream
To me it looks like Jaguar Old English white ---- And them some
or cream almost turning very slightly yellow.
Does anyone know what the colour is ?
The first contemporary UK road test of a right hand drive Flaminia states that a 'tap' for the reserve fuel tank is slightly forward of the drivers seat ?
I can't find this on my car and have never seen a reserve tank mentioned in subsequent tests ?
Thanks in advance

Flaminia questions
Re: Flaminia questions
I tried a little color correction, and assuming it's even close to correct, the color appears to be avorio Chantilly.

Re: Flaminia questions
And i can confirm that it's the Avorio chantilly. Beware that this particular depth of a solid colour is acheivable with a nitrocellulose paint ONLY. Max Meyer as the main PF paint supplier of the period (MM12043).
Re: Flaminia questions
Thanks guys - Avorio Chantilly it is !
Flaminia's sold in the UK were simply described as white or cream. Mine is definitely the cream version.

Re: Flaminia questions
Richard,
congratulations, your Flaminia looks fantastic.
There is a chamber inside the fuel tank containing the reserve fuel. Two fuel pipes lead from the tank to the "switch" which is located on the floor right in front of the passenger seat (with lhd cars). Lancia did not change the position of this item for rhd cars.

Re: Flaminia questions
Many Thanks Hubert !
I found it.
I wondered what that was. I was looking for a spindle or a lever rather than a large cap.

Re: Flaminia questions
I acquired a 1963 Flaminia GTL with the VIN 826.140-1004. Is there a way to identify where the car was first delivered and what is the original color. Thanks.
