Lybra insurance in UK

Hello

Does anyone know of an insurance company in the UK that will insure left hand drive Lybra 1.9JTD imported from Belgium?

Some insurance companies have asked what the UK equivalent of the Lybra is because they would use that as the basis for insurance. Does anyone know of an authoritative comparison of models?

Welcome to the club, I have owned a Delta HPE HF for nearly 7 years and getting insurance is difficult.

The companies/brokers I have been with have been:-

Richards, Wines and Leavy in Basildon, Essex and am now with Hill House Hammond Specialist car division in Peterbourough.

Would suggest the alternative is either a Alfa 156 or Fiat Marea.

I am looking to buy a Lybra to use in the UK. I recently got more than reasonable quotes from Tesco insurance for both the 1.9JTd and the 2.4JTd.

Did you get the normal questions of what is it, that you normally get with the telephone companies.

I was not asked any questions about the car. They contacted their underwriters while I was on the phone. When getting the quote for the 2.4JTd, the underwriters gave the comparison car as a Nissan Primera 2.2Td.

I assume that the car is on a central database as there is one already in the UK. If this is the case, then this is probably where the quote came from.

Thanks to Simon and Stuart for your replys. I have eventually taken insurance from Tesco at just under £600 with protected no claims.

My next hurdle is to get it past the MOT. My problem is the headlights can not be adjusted enough to meet the UK specification. Any ideas on how to get round this would be appreciated.
