Thema LS Turbo made 329bhp and 286ft/lb torque on the rolling road!

Took my Thema for the remap yesterday.

I'm astonished! I kept the KAT, standerd exhaust and air box too!

It made 329bhp and 286ft/lb torque!

Power is beyond belief!

Check out the dyno graph photo link below:

This is a road sleeper...

It has bigger injectors (384cc EVO 1) and a GT28RS Turbocharger. I have also removed the S3 Turbo head which is usless due it being a green engine with tiny inlet valves and replaced it with a proper large valved one (EVO 1). In order to use the hotter Tipo Mk1 cam I have re-located the phase sensor to the inlet side of the engine (as per Evo 1's) and used the worn inlet cam as the new exhaust.

The car drives just great on the road with great power on demand!

I know have the power to express myself!

Saw it on evocorner as well. Are you the Pietro who bought the car off me ?? If so you seem to have done a grand job ! I got the Fanalone in the end - currently restoring it.

If it was you then you know what I am talking about - if not apologies !

Hi Neil.

Yes I still have the black one. Used better condition S3 for this project, however I used the KONI's from you old one :) The black one made 205.8 bhp and 224 ft/lb of torque on the rollers, above standerd! It really has a sweet engine, who rebuilt it and why? Did the belts go?

Glad your back into the Italian marque and enjoying your new Fulvia, they are just great!

Hows the RX8?

Pietro,
Nice to hear from you. The belts skipped a tooth and bent the valves. It was rebuilt by McKewans (a small family FIAT specialist in Derby) in about 1999 I think (you probably have the invoice). He also repaired a small oil leak in one of the cylinder head galleries some time later as well. I was always very pleased with his work and attitude.
RX8 is fine thanks. A very good car - suits me sir ! Handles very well - I have taken it one few track day sessions including a days training at Prodrive. Only downside would be the economy and small range (20 mpg and 250 miles).
I got hold of my Fanalone in Venice last year and have set about a full restoration. The body shell is just about to go into have new sills put on and a full re-spray then I start on the mechanical rebuild. Very pleased (and lucky) to find it. I am the third owner and its has done only 10,500 km.
You seem to have been very busy with your cars, and judging by the comments on Evocorner have doen a very good job, you must be pleased with the outcome.
Regards
Neil

10,500 km! Very lucky! I am pleased with the results however I would have prefered more low down power, perhaps a supercharger is next, we will see! McKewans seem very good, i would stick to them for work in the future! Will you be showing your Fulvia at any shows when complete?

Pietro , well done. I have done exact same project. also use Tipe 5 dr inlet can and old thema cam on exhaust , GT28RS turbo but added a custom branch manifold/headers and also low restriction alluminium inlet manifold. Also used 380cc injectors.

My engine needs a full dyno still , but just ran it to see what the power is - 240bhp

Currently this 16V thema engine and gearbox is in my Beta VX - WILD WILD WILD!!!

I am going to remove it and fit it to my Thema since it can handle much more power and the braking is excellent.
