Even a novice like me would make an educated guess that heat is causing the problem, probably a connector or wiring harness has been damaged or corroded. Just have a good hunt around under the bonnet for wiring as described. Also I recall when I had a dedra (2.0ie se) it had an intermittent (then dead) bad MAP sensor which caused occasional poor/non starting. You may have to call in an auto electrician (rather than a mechanic) the coil being hot with no ignition on is a grave cause for concern.

Hi,

What is MAP sensor, ..and where is it located. I have got Dedra Turbo and occasionaly, right afrer starting
, the engine goes up and down ( 500-1400 rpm ) for a while ( 1-3 min ). It does not matter if the engine
is cold or warm. It also feels like starting the engine would be sometimes more difficult.
As you can see I don't know much about the mechanic but I just love Lancia cars:-))
...and I am done with local Lancia/Fiat/Alfa Romeo "specialists":-)

Hi Jarek,

Have a look at the throttle sensor, take off the large air intake hose next to this and clean up around the throttle butterfly, you will probably find this is gummed up with old petrol deposits, use a carb cleaner.
