For the specialists! Question concerning problem HPE HF TURBO 2.0 16V '96

Guys,

Official Lancia computer can't read the fault in the engine.

When the car is started (and temperature is cold) car is undrivable... as the electronic choke ain't working (i think), once it's warm it runs fine.

So when i start the engine when it hasn't run for a night f.e. it's like it has no fuel or too much?? But not immediately, it runs fine for 15 to 30seconds, and then it starts.... Then i need to wait or drive it like an imbecile :-) for 10minutes until it's warm. When the temperature is high enough I stop the engine and start it again... this helps!!!

So what have I done till now... I cleaned the VAE valve (which determines the rpm when it's cold), I have chaned the spark plugs, the spark plug-cables and fuel-filtre. For myself it looks like it is the electronic choke which doesn't work normally, with as a consequence that the ignition/injection doesn't work properly untill the car is warm.... Fyi, the car has been stored in a garage for 5 years and didn't run for that period.

So please if some of you have some experience with this..... help would be appreciated....

Many thanx

David

Check the motor temperature sensor. Or at least its connection.
