Gamma A Gain

Unread post by fulvia a.i. »

22 Nov PM 13:00 - I started a slow Gold-Gamma drive in sunny-weather from Walldorf Nord Baden, DE to Neuenberg / Weil am Rhein, Sud Baden DE (near Basel CH) on business. Super Esso price was 8cent lower in Nnerg than in WaRh; so I filled up - ca 62 Liter - for over €90. Proceeded to safely drive thru CH -N to S- without stopping; drove over CH / IT border & on to Magenta, Milano, IT without stopping.

Overnighted for 1st time at Hotel HNE- Magenta, MI (3 Star) - €40 con Calzone; a record low price for 3star in Milan in last 10 yrs ! Normally I'd have driven 15 km further to Hotel Castello (1 Star) Abiatagrasso, MI for €60 con Breakfast. Hotel HME was much nicer, the B'fast was much better, the Caffe`was ohlala; HME Restaurant for the evening meal was a fantasy, as was my free-tour thru the Cucina by the Chef. The Sicilian-Style Menu del Giorno............was soooooooo cheap.........
My Milan Office was happy to save € not spent. I saved 20km & 20 minutes by stopping in Magenta. Goodby Hotel Castello !

Next AM, after fun in Milan office; drove in warmweather to Trento on traffic-free low-speed Superstrada (it was lunch-time & roads were empty) - past Lodi/Crema / Garda - with a few minutes of pay toll for each KM driven on high.speed Autostrada.

Did fun business in Trento, loaded 240L of Grappa in Gamma Trunk (boot) & proceeded toward Innsbruck via Brenner Pass. Arrived in Lindau on DE border with 1/4 tank of fuel .. Average consumption - 7.5 Liter km. Tanked-up in Lindau the the 2d Filling-Station in town - at same price as in Neuenberg.....12 cent less per Liter than at 1st Filling-Station !! Wow.

Got home at 24:00; it was still warm - for Nov, or even for Sep --- barefoot walking warm !!!
1400km in 18 hrs driving........I think I remember seeing Alps; other interesting sights, however vaugely.
Poor me, in 2 weeks I do it again; but in a Fiat Cargo-Van. I hope there is no snow !!

Yes, its a hard-job but someone has 2do it ! Gamma ran so silently that I sometimes wondered if I left the motor at home. Mileage over last 240km....7.5 L p. 100 km !! Super Wow !!
