HI all,
I have a bit leaking cam cover (every effort was made to make the seal hight), so it is time to skim it. The cylinder head is after a rebuild so it should be ok. The question would be, is there any trick of the process? Are the centre, plug hole part are the same level as the rest of the cam cover?
Thank you in advance, Peter
Cam Cover Skimmed
Re: Cam Cover Skimmed
i would be very surprised if they were not. from a manufacturing standpoint i just don't see any good reason to have them at different elevations. i would also be looking at the head for imperfections causing the leak. maybe the oil is coming through an imperfection in the casting in either the head or cover. a straight edge or large file across the cam cover will show if it's not flat.

Thank you for you answer, the straight edge check was made before, it's not flat.
