Re: How full is your tank ?
Richard, I confess that all three of my Flaminias were converted to electric fuel pumps. For the two which currently run (1961 GT convertible & 1958 berlina) I try to make sure each is driven every single week, with no more than a two week lapse if that's not possible. I fill the tank with a bra...

Re: Flaminia SS Zagato chassis numbers
I remember reading a story about a late Flaminia Touring coupe purchased as a new car after production had stopped. It was represented to be a new model. The buyer found the car to be equipped with tires that were several years old! That told the true story. By the mid-1960s it was very difficult to...

Re: Lancia Flaminia 3C GT engine number
Hello Flami: I'll add a little bit to Jean's information. If you have a 2.5 3C car, the engine should be an 823.10 series. I formerly owned a fairly early (1962) Touring GT coupe 2.5 3C which interestingly had an engine serial number just one number greater than the car's chassis number. Unfortunate...

Re: Which series of the Fulvia Coupé is best?
I'm not really qualified to respond because I've only owned and driven 1st series cars and both of them were pretty dog-eared and rusty by the time I acquired them. (I was still a young man of limited means at the time and Fulvias were thin on the ground in the U.S. by the 1980s.) BUT I've always ap...

Re: Engine block colour?
Interesting. My experience matches b20swalt's comments. I owned (and at one time or other took apart) two Series 1 Fulvia engines, a 1216 cc from a 1967 coupe and a 1298 cc from a 1968 Sport. Neither block was painted at all. I simply rebuilt them and popped them back together as was, unpainted. The...

Very sad. It will cost a lot of repair it.

Re: which part was used
Hello, Philippe. I'm not aware of another model that uses the indicator lever unless perhaps some other Touring models used it (such as the Maserati 3500). The early single carb Tourings used a switch also found in some Aurelias. Your 3C uses a different switch. Regarding the bumpers, are you planni...

Re: Lancia Report - in Pieces (p.s. from Philip)
Just to put my two cents worth in, I remember thinking the Fulvia Berlina was boxy and dull-looking. Well, just imagine . . . . some years later Toyota comes out with its first XB which I thought was a brilliant piece of packaging and a coherent pure aesthetic idea. And what did it make me think of ...

Re: Barn Finds...
That's a really unfortunate story, concerning their short operational period. But I suppose Flaminias were too demanding of maintenance for American owners even in the late 50s/early 60s. Mine came to me with a odometer reading 36K miles with an engine in a condition that suggested the mileage was c...

Re: Barn Finds...
Wow is right. When I bought my '58 berlina the seller thought that it was one of very few in the U.S.. I've been amused by how many I've seen since then. Quite a collection of Flaminias there. I wonder how many of them were put out of business by brake problems.
