Re: Fanalone "Piggy-back" Gearbox
Cannot comment about the teeth (though I think it's unlikely) but I am pretty sure that the the S2 starter motor will not fit in the SI hole! As I wrote before I tried a Ducellier on a 1600 and it was pretty hopeless - and as I also wrote, I saw the Ducellier equipment - starters and alternators onl...

Re: Wheel Bearings
Here's a link to an article from my blog which covers the job of front wheel bearing replacement. There's also another article with pictures of some tools here.

Re: Fanalone "Piggy-back" Gearbox
Barry always used to say that the Ducelliers were no good as they damaged the ring gear, though I have to say I find this hard to believe.

Re: Fanalone "Piggy-back" Gearbox
Brilliant Neil - I think you have it. As I recall, the gearbox is numbered 790 whilst the original is something like 560 I have said before to my old Fulvia friend Justin, that one never stops learning about Fulvias. However I don't understand your point about Ducellier starter motors. As far as I k...

Re: gemmer steering box HF?
No the track rods are completely different: the S1s are things of beauty with the tapered collars etc. instead of the primitive clamp and split end on the S2s
However the S2 ball joints are I think bigger and better!

Re: Fanalone "Piggy-back" Gearbox
Hello.
the difference is the location of the starter motor; I haven't actually made certain but it seems that the motor would be larger - as in S2. The two bolt holes are no longer in circular line as they are on the SI bell housing.

Fanalone "Piggy-back" Gearbox
Here's a strange one. My client was never happy with the original 'box in her Fanalone and I agreed, I didn't think much of it either and much preferred the SII one in my own "special". Anyway, from someone here in France, she bought a Fanalone engine and gearbox, allegedly with just 80,00...

Re: gemmer steering box HF?
Yes! What Harry Manning used to call "S one-and-a-half" My Fanalone-owning client, who used her car on numerous French stage rallies, has SII front brakes fitted. This was done at Evolution Engineering in London and was tricky because the straight SI steering arms are a bit in the way - an...

Yes, the last I can remember from England five years or more ago was about £100 or so.
